Acceptable Use Policy

What you may not do with the velixir Service. Forms part of our Terms of Service; violations may result in immediate suspension.

Last updated . Operated by velixir Ltd (company no. 17240244, registered in England & Wales).

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) applies to everyone using the velixir Service and forms part of the Terms of Service. The rules below exist to keep the platform fast and reliable for everyone - and to keep us out of legal trouble that would compromise the service for paying customers.

1. Prohibited content

You may not use the Service to host, store, transmit or process:

  • Content that's illegal in the UK or in the country where you or your users are located.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or material that sexualises minors in any form. We report and cooperate with NCMEC and equivalent agencies.
  • Material that promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or imminent harm to a person or group.
  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patents) that you don't have a licence to use.
  • Material that violates a person's privacy or publicity rights, including non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Defamatory or knowingly false content presented as fact.
  • Stalking, harassment, doxxing, or coordinated harassment campaign infrastructure.
  • Phishing pages or any material designed to defraud users.

2. Prohibited activities - infrastructure abuse

You may not use the Service to:

  • Mine cryptocurrency. All proof-of-work and proof-of-stake mining is prohibited regardless of the coin. Crypto wallets, exchanges, RPC nodes for legitimate apps are fine; mining isn't.
  • Run distributed-computing workloads that abuse the trial credit or commit-but-don't-pay flows (BOINC, Folding@Home, etc., at scale).
  • Send unsolicited bulk email (spam). Transactional and opt-in marketing email is fine; cold outreach at scale is not.
  • Host malware, ransomware, spyware, or any binary designed to compromise other computers.
  • Run port scanners, vulnerability scanners, or any reconnaissance tooling targeting systems you don't own and have written permission to test.
  • Run open proxies, open relays, or anonymising relays (Tor exit nodes, public VPN gateways) without prior written agreement from us.
  • Originate denial-of-service traffic against any system, including stress-testing systems you do own without a maintenance window and pre-notification to us.
  • Run high-volume web scraping that targets services that explicitly prohibit it in their terms.

3. Resource abuse

You may not:

  • Use the Service in a way that's clearly designed to consume disproportionate shared resources (noisy-neighbour behaviour beyond what a normal application of similar plan tier would generate).
  • Attempt to circumvent plan limits, billing meters, suspended-app gates, or rate limits.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse trial credit, abuse free-tier resources, or avoid suspension.
  • Run cryptocurrency-style speculative arbitrage bots that maintain very high outbound bandwidth to exchange APIs.

4. Targeting velixir's infrastructure

Specifically, you may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from velixir's platform.
  • Attempt to access other customers' data, accounts, environment variables, or compute resources.
  • Probe velixir's control plane, admin systems, or staff infrastructure.
  • Run automated processes that hammer our public APIs at rates the documented rate limits don't anticipate.

Security research is welcome - see the responsible disclosure note at the bottom of this page.

5. Trial-credit fair use

The €14.99 first-month credit is a one-per-person, one-per-organisation benefit designed to let you trial real workloads. Creating multiple accounts to repeatedly claim trial credit is prohibited. We may consolidate or terminate accounts that appear to be sock-puppets of a single Customer.

6. Consequences of violation

Depending on severity, velixir may:

  • Email you and ask you to stop.
  • Suspend the offending application or your entire account, with notice where the violation isn't actively damaging.
  • Suspend immediately without prior notice for serious or ongoing violations.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement, including disclosing relevant data under valid legal process.
  • Terminate your account and forfeit non-refundable amounts where the AUP violation materially harmed us or other customers.

Where we believe a violation was unintentional, we'll usually contact you before taking action and give you a reasonable opportunity to remediate.

7. Reporting violations

See content hosted on velixir that you believe violates this AUP? Email [email protected] with the URL and a brief description. We investigate within two business days.

8. Responsible security disclosure

If you find a security vulnerability in the velixir platform itself, email [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours, fix critical issues within 7 days, and credit reporters who request it. Don't access data that isn't yours; don't run automated scanners against production - both are themselves AUP violations.
